Dear Parents,

Happy belated Halloween! The excitement at DES was palpable all last week. Students and staff discussed their Halloween plans and costumes and it all led up to Friday afternoon. Thank you to all the volunteers for their work in making the parade and the classroom parties such a fun event. It was clear the students (and the adults) had a great time.

We just wanted to remind parents who are dropping students off at the main office that we need you to accompany your child into the building and sign him or her in. We have had many students come in on their own to sign themselves in without their parent or guardian and for safety's sake we need the parent or guardian to be the one to sign the student in.

Dunbarton Public Listening Session on Bow District Transition

At the November 5th school board meeting, the Dunbarton School Board will be holding a Public Listening Session on the school transition to Bow. This is an opportunity for the board to hear during the public comment session of their monthly board meeting how the transition to the Bow School District is going. The session will start at 6:30 PM in the Dunbarton Elementary School library.

The principals of the Bow High School and the Bow Memorial School will be attending this listening session.  The Board extended an invitation to the Goffstown Administrators.

All Dunbarton parents and residents are invited to attend.  For questions, please call Rene Ouelett at 774-5028.

Please remember that if you are changing your dismissal plans, we would appreciate it if you would call the office before 2:00 p.m. Multiple calls after 2:00 tends to create a chaotic end of the day and we want to ensure for a safe and organized dismissal for each and every child.

On November 10th We are planning for a Veterans Day breakfast for Dunbarton veterans as well as a Veterans Day assembly shortly following. This will be a good opportunity for students to learn the meaning of Veterans Day as well as the chance to thank some of their own local veterans.

Just a reminder that November 10th is an early release day and there will be no school on November 11th in recognition of Veterans Day.

As always, we wish you all the best and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or any of us in the office.

Sincerely,

Owen Harrington

Principal
