I hope everyone had an opportunity to enjoy the long weekend as well as to take in some of the impressive fall foliage. I, for one, was happy with the amount of color to be seen when driving from NH to the Adirondacks of NY to visit my parents. It was a beautiful ride.
I am going to be fairly brief with this week's DES Principal's update. As it is budget season and as many of you are aware, we had one very small kindergarten class this year, we need to determine a best guess for how many students will be in first grade this year. In doing so, I am hoping people could contact Mrs. Westenberg in the office to let her know of any Dunbarton children who are registered for kindergarten at a different school and are planning on attending first grade at DES next year. If you know of anyone, please contact Mrs. Westenberg in the office (774-3181, ext. 201 or firstname.lastname@example.org) so she can create a running list of how many students we may be looking at. I am also hoping individuals might be inclined to let us know of any students who would be of kindergarten age next year. This information will be helpful in determining next year’s budget as well as for the committee commissioned by the Dunbarton School Board to determine the efficacy of an all-day kindergarten program at Dunbarton Elementary School.
Should you have any questions or any information to share, please feel free to contact any of us in the office.
