What a strange October week it has been! We’ve seen temperatures near 80 and monsoon like rain storms. It was certainly a great opportunity for us to get some more sunshine, except for yesterday, and enjoy some warmer weather. Upon our return from the four-day weekend, we enjoyed the enrichment assembly of Bubble Mania. The students enjoyed it tremendously. Although it was an assembly about bubbles, there was a strong science component. If you are interested in learning more about the science of bubbles (or if you would like to see some of the tricks) we have the website for you here: http://www.bubblemania.com/ .
We are nearing the end of our Technology Plan for Dunbarton Elementary School. Every school district in NH is asked to create a plan. Each plan is comprised of the following items: an introduction (describing the district), the technology goals for the district, the action plan for implementation, how it will be budgeted, how the plan will be evaluated and the various district policies that relate to technology. The basic premise of the technology plan is that it will be a guide to decision making in the areas of technology. Our hope is to have the new plan ready for the November school board meeting.
The annual Halloween parade and parties are coming up! The Halloween parade will start at 1:15. We do have a police escort and upon the student return, we will have our Halloween parties. Each student will have a treat, water and participate in a classroom game. It is sure to be a fun and spooky time for all.
