Dear Parents,

What a strange October week it has been! We’ve seen temperatures near 80 and monsoon like rain storms. It was certainly a great opportunity for us to get some more sunshine, except for yesterday, and enjoy some warmer weather. Upon our return from the four-day weekend, we enjoyed the enrichment assembly of Bubble Mania. The students enjoyed it tremendously. Although it was an assembly about bubbles, there was a strong science component. If you are interested in learning more about the science of bubbles (or if you would like to see some of the tricks) we have the website for you here: http://www.bubblemania.com/ .

We are nearing the end of our Technology Plan for Dunbarton Elementary School. Every school district in NH is asked to create a plan. Each plan is comprised of the following items: an introduction (describing the district), the technology goals for the district, the action plan for implementation, how it will be budgeted, how the plan will be evaluated and the various district policies that relate to technology. The basic premise of the technology plan is that it will be a guide to decision making in the areas of technology. Our hope is to have the new plan ready for the November school board meeting.

The annual Halloween parade and parties are coming up! The Halloween parade will start at 1:15. We do have a police escort and upon the student return, we will have our Halloween parties. Each student will have a treat, water and participate in a classroom game. It is sure to be a fun and spooky time for all.

We also wanted to remind you once again of the Harlem Wizards coming to Bow High School on October 22nd at 6:30. Feel free to contact the Bow Recreation Department or go online tohttp://www.harlemwizards.com/homepage.php for tickets. Believe it or not, the Harvest Moon Supper is coming up soon. Please visit the PTO website at http://dunbartonpto.com/n for more details. Don’t forget to check on how to donate to the supper and earn free raffle tickets. The Harvest Moon Supper is a good time had by all and is a great community event. We look forward to seeing you all there.

We wish all students and their families a great weekend and please feel free to contact us should you have any questions.

Sincerely,
