Dear Parents,

There is certainly an air of excitement here at DES given that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and the students will be participating in Valentine’s Day parties at the end of the day. Thank you to all of the PTO Room Parents and volunteers who help to make these parties a success. Thank you as well to Constantly Pizza for making it that much more special with heart shaped pizzas. It truly makes it a more unique experience for the students.

Thank you to the parents and community members at large who came out to the SB2 and Tax Cap hearings this past Wednesday. It is always important to ensure for an informed public when voting and your efforts to stay informed certainly did not go unnoticed. Thank you.

This coming Monday (Feb. 15) is an early release day. Students are dismissed at 12:15. Next week is also “Spirit Week” at DES. Monday is “Crazy Hair Day”; Tuesday is “Rainbow/Colorful Clothing Day”; Wednesday is “Pajama Day”; Thursday is “Homeroom Wars”; and Friday is “Dunbarton Pride Day.”

Just a reminder next Friday will also be the start of our 2016 Winter Activities session. I think we are lucky to have the colder weather we are currently experiencing to ensure for some snow making at Pat’s Peak. Please remember to make sure your child is dressed appropriately for his or her activity, especially if it is an outdoor activity. Layers are certainly the best option. Should you have any questions about this, feel free to email Mrs. Westenberg at swestenberg@dunbarton.k12.nh.us or call either Mrs. Westenberg or Mrs.Johnson at 774-3181.

Remember that February vacation will begin after next week. Once we return from February break we will be full steam ahead for the SBAC and the NWEA assessments. I will certainly keep you abreast of all that accompanies these two assessments and will happily answer any questions any of you may have concerning them.
