Dear Parents,

As I write this email to you today, your children have just left for their various winter activities. We knew we were gambling a little with winter activities in March, but I think our gamble has paid off since we have a great snow base for our skiers and those who have stayed behind have a quintessential winter weather backdrop as well.

I also wanted to take some time today to ask that you please come out to vote tomorrow. No matter which side of the vote you are on, I would encourage you to come out to support it. Not only is it your democratic right to do so, but it also sends a clear message to your children that community is important. The meeting will begin at 4:00 and the school board will give a thorough presentation of the budget. Dr. Cascadden and I will also share some thoughts on the budget and DES as a whole. The school board members will go into the specific details of the budget and will be able to address any specific questions there may be. If you would like to look over the documents before the meeting, the can be found here:

The town voting day will be Tuesday, March 10th. On this day students will be having lunch in the classroom as the town voting will be in the community center. Our PE classes will also be held in the classrooms. Those students who will be dropped off in the morning will need to be dropped off at the back entrance by the playground. This will mean you will need to go through the back access road.

In one of my previous emails, I asked for people to complete a survey on the old fashioned fishing derby that will be put together for Dunbarton’s 250th. I don’t believe it was easy to access, so I hope I have fixed that and you can access it here:

I wish everyone happy springtime thoughts and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
